Author Jonni Good asked me to create a mask using her techniques and instructions in her newest paper mache book. Following her directions I was amazed at how easy it was to create my Bear mask. Jonni has included him in her newest publication HOW TO MAKE MASKS!

I've been so busy working on custom orders lately. Not much time for anything else.

I hope to post some pics here in a couple of days. The latest two have been a real challenge but I like the way they are turning out.

It's been awhile since I've posted here. I have been working on a few new ideas and have at last completed a couple.

Before they were painted, my daughter stopped by and told me they reminded her of angels. So, my little angel winged Bluebirds are now complete. You do know the name of the Bluebird of Happiness...right?

I've been working on a couple of projects for the last year and have decided IT IS TIME to finish them.

I'll post work in progress pics...after I get over being disgusted. And frustrated.

My mermaid was almost ready for paint. Then I sprayed her with KRYLON to seal and prime in two easy steps. Big mistake. NOTE: do not use KRYLON on paper mache ever again!

So I spent the day sanding my almost ready to paint lady and started the mache process again. Tossing my mistakes is a big NO NO. Days, months, even a year can be invested, so if there is a way to salvage my work I am going to find it.

I've been compiling a list of affirmations lately:

1. PERSIST
2. JUST DO IT (great one Nike!)
3. and now my newest one: Get Over It!

First, credit is due. Thank you to my daughter, who got me going on this venture. Also Thank You Z, my granddaughter who brought my blog to life. Where would I be without my computer savvy teenager? Computer's in's and out's are second nature to her. I am in awe and grateful because I KNOW where I'd be in this venture if it were up to me to figure all this out by myself.

The beginning

My paper mache adventure began one late November with Moon ornaments I created for my Christmas tree. I fell in love. Happy little faces spread over my table top looked up at me and that was IT.
