It has taken me 3 months, in between other projects, to finish my mountain lion.  I've wanted to create this guy for quite some time and finally got just the determiniation I needed through Jonni Good at Ultimate Paper Mache.
This boy is big, almost 3 feet largest paper mache sculpture to date.

Sun light has made him a bit splotchy because of the breeze blowing my trees.

I didn't realize how long it's been since I've created a painting.  Finishing up my wild critters brought that to my attention.  I want to work on the complete animal sculptures soon.  In the meantime, these masks are allowing me to get more confident before I tackle that big venture.

Although I did get my falling Easter eggs set up, I think I ought to add one more item to get this blog into the spirit of the season.

Artist and Author Jonni Good has just  published her newest paper mache book HOW TO MAKE MASKS.  I was honored when she asked me to create a mask to include in her book using the techniques and instructions she developed.  Following her directions  I was amazed at how easy her process is.
Ah, Mardi Gras 2012 kicks off on my birthday ... so what better way to get into the spirit of Mardi Gras celebration than to create  my mask . . .
