I didn't realize how long it's been since I've created a painting.  Finishing up my wild critters brought that to my attention.  I want to work on the complete animal sculptures soon.  In the meantime, these masks are allowing me to get more confident before I tackle that big venture.

Artist and Author Jonni Good has just  published her newest paper mache book HOW TO MAKE MASKS.  I was honored when she asked me to create a mask to include in her book using the techniques and instructions she developed.  Following her directions  I was amazed at how easy her process is.
Ah, Mardi Gras 2012 kicks off on my birthday ... so what better way to get into the spirit of Mardi Gras celebration than to create  my mask . . .

I've been so busy working on custom orders lately.  Not much time for anything  else.

I hope to post some pics here in a couple of days.  The latest two have been a real challenge but I like the way they are turning out.
